Xero Tip Of The Month August 2016 - Direct Bank Feeds In Xero

Automate your bank activity in Xero with direct bank feeds!

A direct bank feed allows your bank activity to automatically import into Xero. This means your bank and Xero work together, sending the statement data over a secure connection directly into your Xero organisation. Making your life easier, with reliable and up to date feeds.

To find out if your bank provides direct feeds go to the ‘Direct Bank Feeds’ page in the Xero Help Centre, and click on your region. Listed are all of the banks Xero has direct feeds with. Click on your bank and have a look at the details of the feed, especially the account types your bank supports.

To ensure we can set up the connection to your bank as soon as possible, it is important that your bank account in Xero is set up correctly, and your application form is complete. Remember, you can only have one feed per bank account. So make sure each feed you are applying for has its own bank account set up in Xero. Since we are working together with your bank, it can take up to 10 working days to get your feed set up.

Once the feed is activated we will send the subscriber of the organisation an email. And if for any reason we aren’t able to activate your feed, we will be in touch with you.

Paving the way for the future, a number of banks have joined with us to provide their customers an even better service, what we are calling Next-Generation Banking or Banking 2.0. With Barclays, HSBC and NatWest, you can apply for a bank feed through your internet banking, and these feeds start in 24 hours.
